Methamphetamine Bust In Goderich – SLOTEGRAAF, SCRUTON & KURTH

(GODERICH, ON) – Three Huron County residents are facing charges after police caught them in possession of stolen property from a break-in that occurred in Goderich at the end of December.

On December 27, 2019 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a report of a break, enter and theft that took place at a business located on West Street in the Town of Goderich. Several items were stolen including electronics and cash.

Investigators began working on the case and it wasn’t long before they were successful in identifying a suspect. On Thursday, January 9, 2020 members from the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Huron County OPP Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence located on Bennett Street East in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized two stolen laptop computers, suspected methamphetamine and other suspected stolen property items.

Two accused were arrested yesterday and a third accused was arrested this afternoon.

Steven SLOTEGRAAF, 43 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of Methamphetamine and Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking.

Josi SCRUTON, 28 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Christopher KURTH, 34 years of age from Clinton has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of Methamphetamine and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

All three accused have since been released from custody with court appearances scheduled for February 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
