(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 49-year-old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh following a shoplifting investigation that took place last weekend just outside of Goderich.
On February 22, 2020 at approximately 6:26 p.m. Huron OPP attended a commercial property located on Huron Road just east of Goderich after receiving a call from the store’s loss prevention officer. Upon speaking with the loss prevention officer it was learned the suspect had left the business with a grocery cart full of products without making payment for the items. The suspect was stopped outside of the store and was taken into custody.
Upon arrest a search was conducted and the accused was found possessing a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
Angela CALDWELL, 49 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 23, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
