(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have impounded a vehicle after the driver was arrested in Listowel.
An OPP officer was patrolling in Listowel on May 2 2020, when they noticed an expired validation sticker on a vehicle licence plate, prompting a traffic stop on Wallace Avenue North. The vehicle quickly pulled into a private drive, where the driver exited the vehicle, and was identified. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving.
As a result, Michael COOPER, 38, of Huron East has been charged with:
Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code
Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 29 2020 to answer to the charges. The vehicle was towed for the scene, and a 45 day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
