(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Members from Oneida Police Services and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle crash that took place last night in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
At approximately 6:24 p.m. on March 11, 2020 members from Oneida Police Services, Middlesex OPP, Elgin OPP, Oneida Fire and Oneida Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single vehicle crash located at the T- intersection of Ball Park Road and Townline Road.
The preliminary investigation has since determined a mid-size coupe was southbound on Ballpark Road when the vehicle left the roadway, drove through a wooded area and ultimately came to rest in a field off of Townline Road.
One occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other occupants, a 17-year-old and a 29-year-old were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Amanda MANION-LEWINGTON, 20 years of age, from Bridgenorth. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.
Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team also attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
