(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a break-in that took place at a seasonal home located just north of Goderich.
Investigation has revealed someone forced entry into a cottage located on Lake Avenue over the last couple weeks. Not only was the cottage ransacked there were also signs the suspect had been living in the cottage.
At this point it doesn’t appear any property was stolen.
Property owners are encouraged to have someone check on their vacation property on a frequent basis during the off-season” to ensure everything is secure. This tried and tested method is the best deterrent against property crime.
The OPP continue to appeal to persons living in and around trailer parks and/or seasonal homes to report any and all suspicious activity to police when it happens.
