(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 26, 2020 at approximately 9:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of mischief and vehicle thefts that occurred at the Reliable Ford Dealership located on Tower Street South in Fergus on April 25 and April 26, 2020.
Investigation revealed that nine high-end 2020 Ford F150’s, F250’s and F350’s pick-up trucks were stolen worth an approximate value of $700,000. An additional eight vehicles were damaged due to attempted thefts totalling approximately $80,000. The damage occurred when the suspect/s attempted to remove the front driver’s/passenger side door handles.
Numerous licence plates were also stolen off of vehicles that were parked in the parking lot.
Surveillance footage indicates that the vehicles were last seen travelling southbound on Highway 6 away from the dealership.
It is believed the suspects have extensive knowledge of vehicle anti-theft devices and have the means to obtain numerous vehicles at one time, in one event.
