32 Year Old From Wingham Facing Impaired, Threats & Mischief Charges – HOLDEN

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 32-year-old driver from Wingham is facing several charges, including an Impaired Operation charge after police responded to a call for service in Brussels last night.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a community service organization facility located on Turnberry Street in Brussels. Officers were informed a female had just arrived at the property and she immediately began causing a disturbance, damaging property and uttering a threat to a staff member.

Officers located the suspect outside of the building and she was promptly arrested for causing a disturbance. Upon further observations officers noted the accused had double parked her pickup truck and it was the belief of the investigating officer that her ability to drive was impaired by a drug.

A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted and the driver failed. Further evaluations were completed at the Huron OPP Detachment by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and these evaluations indicated the driver was indeed impaired by a drug.

Ashley HOLDEN, 32 years of age, from Wingham has been charged with Impaired Operation by a Drug, Uttering Threats, Mischief Under $5,000 and Causing a Disturbance. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 23, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her licence has also been suspended for an automatic 90 days and her vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
