(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On January 15, 2020 at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a public disturbance on the Main Street in Palmerston. It was reported that a person was kicking the side of a vehicle that was parked in front of a restaurant and creating a traffic hazard.
Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant and took keys from the table of a couple known to them and ran back outside. The owner of the vehicle blocked the driver’s door in an effort to prevent the vehicle from being stolen. The suspect proceeded to kick the side of the car creating three large dents. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was involved in an incident that occurred earlier that morning where the same victim’s purse was stolen.
Calesha Lynn LEE, 28-years-old of Minto has been charged with Mischief Over $5000 and Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a Bail Hearing due to failure to sign release documents.
