(HURON EAST, ON) – A young driver from Huron East has been charged with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that took place last week in Huron East.
On Saturday, February 22, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a sport utility vehicle on Brussels Line to conduct a sobriety check on the driver.
Upon stopping the vehicle the investigating officer spoke with the driver and noticed the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. As a result the driver was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests.
He later provided two samples of his breath to the intoxilizer technician and both of his results were analyzed to be above the legal limit.
Cameron GIBSON, 19 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Young Driver – BAC Above Zero. He was also served with a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded. He has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 23, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
