(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police charged two drivers with Stunt Driving over the weekend. Drivers can be charged with Stunt Driving when operating a vehicle in excess of 49 km/h over the posted speed limit.
The drivers will be required to attend court and their driver’s licences were suspended for seven days. The vehicles they were operating, whether they are the owner of the vehicle or not, were also seized for seven days under the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
The first incident occurred at 3:32 pm on January 17, 2019, on Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth. Jarrett VANDOLDER, 19-years-old, of Grey County was charged with Stunt Driving.
The second incident occurred at 8:29 pm on January 19, 2019, on Road 34 in the Township of Perth East. Sydney GUNN, 20-years-old, from Wellesley Township was charged with Stunt Driving.
The penalties for Stunt Driving include six demerit points, a $2000 – $10,000 fine, a possible extended driver’s licence suspension and up to six months in jail.
Drivers are reminded to obey the posted speed limits and drive cautiously as road conditions can change quickly in the winter.
