(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), in conjunction with the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) have charged a Windsor resident with a drug trafficking offence.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on May 27 2020, a Perth County OPP officer stopped a pick-up truck in the Municipality of North Perth. The driver of the pick-up was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The driver was found to be in possession of cocaine with an approximate street value of $13,000. Additionally, the pick-up truck was seized as offence related property.
As a result, Matthew Jason MILLS, 36, of Windsor, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
Those involved in the trafficking of drugs will continue to be a focus of the OPP. Traffickers need to hear this message loud and clear – this behaviour is not acceptable in our communities.” – Inspector Rob Scott
