(LEAMINGTON, ON) – An individual with outstanding warrants is now facing an additional charge after being observed walking in Leamington.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment spotted an individual with outstanding warrant for their arrest while patrolling Victoria Avenue North in the Municipality of Leamington.
The warrant is in relation to an assault investigation that occurred in the Town of Kingsville in November of 2023.
As the individual was taken into custody, officers located a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be fentanyl.
As a result, Justin JACOBS, 39-year-old of Kingsville has been charged with:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) S.5(2) CDSA
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
