(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – Officers the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a person with impaired operation.
On July 27, 2024, at approximately 7:25 p.m., a member of the public reported a single-vehicle collision where a pick-up truck had rolled on 10th Line West in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The driver had exited the vehicle and was walking away from the location.
Police located the individual nearby and injuries were described as minor. There were no passengers. During the investigation, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests.
Gregory COMTOIS, 40-years-old, from Trent Hills, has been charged with:
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.

Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
