(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving after investigating a traffic hazard.
On August 30, 2024, at approximately 12:58 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic hazard blocking the roadway on Pine Street, West Nipissing.
Police located a low-speed mobile scooter stationary in the middle of the road. The operator was arrested for impaired driving and then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Francis LANDRY, 95 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol
The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2024, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension.
