(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Wanted driver from London facing numerous charges including drug trafficking and refusal.
On August 1, 2024, at 9:56 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was performing a traffic enforcement initiative on Longwoods Road in Delaware, Middlesex Centre and observed a vehicle pass by at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was initiated on Bennett Crescent in Mount Brydges.
It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized at which time the driver refused. The driver was placed under arrest.
Further checks indicated the driver was wanted from a neighbouring municipal police service.
A search of the vehicle, led to the seizure of approximately 200 pills of suspected hydromorphone.
The driver was transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, Somvangh LIMSANA, a 26-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Liquor Licence Control Act with:
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
· Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
· Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
· Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused was held for bail.
