(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP Detachment, has led to charges being laid against three people.
On July 25, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 17 in the Municipality of Machin of a previously reported stolen vehicle. The investigation resulted in the arrest of three people. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and hydromorphone, morphine as well as other drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, the following charges were laid.
Reuben STONEY, 33 years old, of Fort Severn First Nation, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – two counts
Brittney RIPLEY, 29 years old, of Dryden, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Sean FLETT, 29 years old, of Machin, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
One accused was released on undertaking and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice August 26, 2024. Other two accused have been held in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice July 31, 2024, and August 02, 2024.
