52 Year Old Facing Numerous Drug Charges

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division Community Oriented Response Enforcement (CORE) Team, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a residence in the area of Ottawa Street North in Kitchener.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old male has been charged several offences including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I – Fentanyl, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I – Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I – Heroin, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Schedule I – Methamphetamine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I – Hydromorphone, three counts of Possession of Identity Documents, Possession of Unauthorized weapon, Possession of Counterfeit Currency, and Possessing Cannabis for the purpose of selling.

The male was held for a bail hearing. As a result of the search warrant, police seized a substantial amount of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, hydromorphone, methamphetamine and heroin. Police also seized suspected stolen property, counterfeit money, and prohibited weapons, including a replica firearm inside the residence. Five other individuals found inside the residence were also arrested for various offences including the possession of schedule I substances, failing to comply with release orders, breaking and entering and failing to appear for court.
