(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:03 a.m., an officer with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Brant Road in the County of Brant. The driver was arrested and transported to the Brant County OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.
Police have charged Richard BURGESS, 20 years-of-age from London, Ontario with
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy),
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000,
- Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place,
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance and
- Several additional offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
