Thefts In Blyth

(NORTH HURON, ON) –  Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is warning residents to take some preventative steps to thwart thieves targeting valuables left behind in vehicles following three overnight thefts in Blyth this week.

Huron OPP is currently investigating three incidents of theft from vehicles that took place earlier this week in Blyth. All three thefts are believed to have occurred during the early morning hours of August 8, 2021.

On Morris Street thieves smashed a window out of a pickup truck and they stole a wallet that was in the centre console. The wallet was found nearby, however, the cash inside was missing.

On Gypsy Lane the thieves smashed out a pickup truck window and proceeded to steal about $8,000 worth of power tools. Some of the stolen items included a Dewalt laser, cordless drills, batteries and two Milwaukee tool boxes.

A locked enclosed trailer was broken into on Dinsley Street and the thieves made off with a brand new Dewalt drill, three cordless batteries, charger, a Mastercraft multi-tool and a Skil grinder.

Huron OPP believes the suspects were operating a light coloured mini-van.
