(Middlesex County, ON) – On April 18, 2021 at 10:35 p.m., while on general patrol, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped and investigated a motor vehicle at Wellington Road and Highway 401, City of London.
As a result of the investigation, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.
Members of the Elgin Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit assisted with further investigation and subsequently executed a search warrant at a Forest Avenue address located in St. Thomas, Ontario.
As a result, police charged 27-year-old, Kyle SIMMONS, from St. Thomas, Ontario with the following offences:
- Possession of an identity document, section 56.1 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3)
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, section 91(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, section 92(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Possession weapon contrary to prohibition, section 110 of the Criminal Code of Canada (From EMSCU Incident Report)
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court, section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2)
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Instrument for use in copying credit cards – possession, section 342.01(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Making counterfeit money, section 349 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Forgery, section 366(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2)
- Making Counterfeit Money, section 449 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession counterfeit currency, section 450(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possess counterfeit instruments, section 458(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act
- Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)
- Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Vehicle) (x2)
- Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance, section 2(1)(b) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner, section 11(2) of the Highway Traffic Act
Charged with the following offences is 41-year-old, Angela BLACK, of St. Thomas, Ontario:
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3)
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, section 91(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, section 92(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Instrument for use in copying credit cards – possession, section 342.01(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Making counterfeit money, section 349 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Making Counterfeit Money, section 449 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession counterfeit currency, section 450(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possess counterfeit instruments, section 458(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act
- Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)
- Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Vehicle)
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle, section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act
- Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
- Improper muffler – motor vehicle, section 75(1) of the Highway traffic Act
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act
Charged with the following offences is 45-year-old Sarah PAYNE, of St. Thomas, Ontario:
- Possession of anything for use in, production of/trafficking in Schedule I or Schedule III substance, section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)
- CDSA 4(1) Possess of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Inventory Act (Residence)
All accused’s are scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice located in London at a later date.
