(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – The Huron Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on July 2nd, 2023, on London Road in the Township of Morris-Turnberry.
On July 2nd, at 7:18 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on London Road in Morris-Turnberry when they conducted a traffic stop on a southbound motor vehicle that was travelling much higher than the posted speed limit. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently required to provide a roadside breath sample into an Approved Screening Device (ASD), which resulted in a failure.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.
Jeffery FINKBEINER, 41 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:
– Operation while Impaired – Over 80.
The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
