(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brampton resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a single vehicle collision into a ditch and a failed roadside test on June 25th, 2023.
On June 25th at 7:51 p.m., Huron County OPP officers, along with members of the Lambton Fire Department, and Lambton EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a ditch on Bluewater Highway near Turnbull’s Road in the Municipality of Bluewater. The lone driver was located inside the involved vehicle and was safely removed. The driver received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the South Huron Hospital in Exeter. Police spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest.
The accused provided two suitable breath samples to the Intoxilyzer Technician at the hospital, and both tests were found to be over double the legal limit.
Faiz KAHLOON, 22 years of age from Brampton has been charged with:
– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 21st, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
