Another Meth Bust In Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Impaired Operation, drug possession offences, and a weapon offence after a complaint was reported to police on Saturday, November 4th

Huron OPP officers were dispatched to a location on Gibbons Street in Goderich at 1:00 a.m. on November 4th. Witnesses observed a person believed to be under the influence seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and contacted OPP. Officers located the involved vehicle and spoke to the driver who displayed signs of impairment. Officers had reason to believe that the driver was impaired by drug, and they were subsequently arrested. During the arrest, a prohibited weapon and controlled substances were located on the accused.

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for further tests by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (D.R.E.).  

Jeffery KITCHEN, 47 years-of-age from Goderich has been charged with the following offences:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine,

–      Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine,

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 11th, 2023.
