(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test on January 29th at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Jones Street.
Huron County OPP officers investigated a complaint from a concerned citizen who contacted the OPP at approximately 4:25 p.m. after they suspected a driver was operating their vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. OPP officers located the vehicle and driver shortly after on Jones Street in Goderich. In speaking with the driver, officers also believed that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving, which led to a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody.
The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit.
Beverly BUGLER, 70 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
