(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – One person has been charged after a collision during the early hours yesterday morning in Perth County.
On January 13 2021, just after 4:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oxford County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision that had occurred on Elginfield Road on the border of Perth and Oxford Counties, near the roundabout at Perth Road 118. There were no injuries sustained in the collision.
When police arrived on scene, it was determined that the lone occupant of the vehicle was impaired, and they were arrested and brought to a local OPP detachment for further testing. During the investigation, a quantity of cannabis was located in the vehicle.
As a result, Ronald James RUSSELL, 60, of Welland, has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
- Operation while Prohibited Under the Criminal Code
- Possession for the Purpose of Distributing
- Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
