44 Year Old From Huron East Arrested – Name Released

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with an Impaired Operation – Over 80 driving offence following a call from a concerned citizen on Friday, May 19th. 

Huron County OPP received a call shortly after 6:00 p.m. on May 19th indicating that an individual had been observed inside a Huron East business displaying signs of impairment. The same individual entered a vehicle and departed. Police were contacted and provided the caller’s observations.

Police located and spoke to the driver shortly after the call to police and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver registered a “Fail” on the roadside screening device (ASD) and was subsequently placed under arrest for Operation Over 80 and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests with an OPP qualified breath technician.

Joseph MACRAE, 44 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
