(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with Impaired Operation after concerned citizens witnessed unusual driving behaviour on February 20th.
Huron OPP officers responded to complaints from witnesses in Goderich who had observed a driver operating a motor vehicle with their left leg out of the driver’s window in the Town of Goderich at approximately 9:30 a.m. Officers patrolled the area and located the involved vehicle and driver in a parking lot. In speaking with the driver, officers had reason to believe that they were impaired by drug and were subsequently arrested. A suspected cannabis device was found on the driver during a search.
The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further tests conducted by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
Kyle HUTT, 36 years-of-age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township has been charged with the following offence:
– Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days and the accused’ driver’s licence was seized for 90 days.
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 27th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
